Skip hits the 100 game milestone

skip 100 game milestone20 August 2019 · This weekend Meghan ‘Skip’ Stephens will play her 100th game of Senior Womens footy for CPFC as she takes to the field with the Reserves Women in their first ever Preliminary Final!
Skip has been at the club since the creation of the Senior Womens side in 2011. During her time, she has taken an active role in the club, as not only a player, but also in a leadership capacity. Skip Captained the Womens side in 2011-2013, was a Leadership Mentor in 2014-16, Assistant Coach in 2016, won the President's Award in 2017, and was the Womens Head Coach in Seasons 2017 and 2018.
Skip is well known for her memorable sayings and awesome pump up speeches in the huddles. A favourite of ours is her analogy of the difference in boiling eggs and potatoes, to get us ready for the fourth quarter.
One need only look at the comments Meg has received in response to her film debut in the short documentary 'Blinder' to understand how loved she is, and how much of an important role she has played in the development of womens footy, especially here at CPFC.
Here are a collection of comments about Skip:
“Well said Skip, as always you are great with a word and this couldn't have come at a better time.”
“Skip was always super positive and encouraging of me … thanks Skip for sharing your love of the game.”
“From my perspective off field, she epitomises a mentor, a leader, an experienced footballer and has all the qualities to be involved in the game and contribute for many more years to come. I'm better for knowing her.”
And finally, as one summarised; “She is pretty much an absolute legend!”
All the best for game 100 Skip, have an absolute ripper!
