2017 AGM Outcome

The club held their 2017 AGM on Friday 1 December covering the season that was.

We changed this years AGM to a Friday night hoping that it would encourage a lot more to attend as it would not clash with any pre season training nights.

The evening was well attended with a few more attending than 2016 but we still did not get full representation from all divisions of the club. Thank you to all those that were present on the night you care for your club and show an interest as we move forward and plan for what will be a huge year for Chirnside Park as we are celebrating 40 years in 2018.

Senior Coach Annoucement

alan 1

Chirnside Park Football Club is pleased to announce Alan Love as their new senior coach

Alan’s playing career spanned from 1988 in the U12s to 2012, finishing at Chirnside Park. Most of his career was at Ringwood where he played senior footy in Divisions 1 and 2, as well as playing a year at Doncaster East in 1999, and Aquinas in the VAFA from 2007-2010 (including a grand final and coaching the Reserves in 2009-10). In 2011-12, Alan was a playing senior assistant coach at Chirnside Park in Division 3, before retiring and moving to the Waverley Blues in 2013 as a senior assistant coach.

Over the years Alan has been involved with coaching junior footy – at Norwood from U13s to U17s (including regular finals appearances and a U17 premiership in 2015), and as an assistant coach in 2014 for the YJFL A grade U15s who finished runners up.

The past three years Alan has been involved at Blackburn Football Club as their Development Coach. In that time Alan helped guide the team to top 3 finishes each year and was rewarded in 2016 with a premiership flag – this was Alan’s proudest day in footy without doubt. Alan was also part of Blackburn’s senior coaching panel during his time.

We welcome Alan back to Chirnside Park as our new Senior Coach for 2018. Alan certainly relishes the new challenge ahead of him. No doubt we will see Alan and his experienced coaching staff implement much of his Division 1 experience with their main focus on developing our young charges and steering them towards the finals with the premiership flag being our goal.

Alan is married to Sara with 3 teenage kids, we welcome them to our club and we certainly look forward to their involvement. During the day Alan works at Momentum Energy as National Compliance Manager.

Preseason will kick off on Monday 20th November from 6pm at Oxley College Sports Oval and will run to December 20th.
