REPORT

Firstly I would like to congratulate our Captain Hayden Braybrook (Haydos) on playing a great game on his 100th game. It is a great achievement to have played this amount of games at the 1 club, well done Haydos.

Well it was good to be playing footy again after having 2 weeks off due to us having a bye before the long weekend bye. In perfect conditions for this time of the year we took on the Rovers who came down from B grade but are struggling this year. We put in some good training sessions to be ready for this game as we didn't want to slip up and put in a bad performance against a side we were excepted to beat. The boys were switched on from the very beginning with us controlling the game. It was good to see us move the ball well and use the corridor often. Once again though we didn't punish the Rovers on the scoreboard with us having 12 inside 50 entries for a score of 3 goals 7 points to the Rovers 5 entries and 1 goal 1 behind.

The second quarter we started very slowly, not playing our style of footy and just being lazy. The Rovers punished us in this 5-10 minute period scoring 3 goals, to the boys credit they woke up and started to play our style of footy, with hard running. We kicked the last 4 goals of the quarter to go into halftime 26 points up.

After the break the focus was on us playing our style footy and trying to improve on our percentage. The boys were doing a fine job in the second half which allowed us to move players around and also rest certain players. Unfortunately for us the umpires decided to end the game 10 minutes early ??? which hurt us a little as we could have won by at least 10-12 goals instead of the 7 goals we won by. All in all it was a good team performance, which now gets us ready to take on first place Basin this week at home.
