CHIRNSIDE PARK JUNIOR FOOTBALL CLUB
PARENT INVOLVEMENT/VOLUNTEERING
Parent volunteering is an essential part of your child’s team being able to run successfully throughout the year.
Everyone involved in running the Football Club is a volunteer; there are no paid positions,
from the Committee members to the Coaches, Team Managers, Trainers and Runners, right down to the Water Carriers.
Everyone is a parent just like you! Each team requires parents to volunteer,
to fill numerous positions on match day, on a regular basis Unfortunately this is often left to the same few people each week.
Each team needs a minimum of 11 helpers every week for away matches, and 13-15 helpers for home matches.
These positions need to be filled as early as possible before the game, so when you arrive at the ground please
find the Team Manager and offer your assistance.
Team Managers need parent helpers for the following positions every Sunday –
- Goal Umpire
- Boundary Umpire
- Umpire Escort
- Runner
- Interchange Steward
- Water Carriers x 3
- Time Keeper
- Best & Fairest Votes x 3 people
- Canteen helpers x 2 to 4 (home matches only)
Each job is simple and easy to carry out.
The Team Manager will make sure you fully understand your instructions before the game starts.
Remember – if parents don’t volunteer, we won’t have a Club for our children to come to!
So please make yourself available as much as you can. The Committee is always looking for new members as well,
so please don’t hesitate to ask your Team Manager to point you in the right direction.
